Tracey is an experienced Principal, Teacher and School Management Advisor who over the past 30 years has worked in a variety of schools both in New Zealand and internationally in the UAE, Indonesia and Vietnam. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to Oromahoe School and loves being back in NZ working in a rural school with an environmental and arts focus.
Year 6-8 Classroom Teacher
Chanda Pinsent grew up in rural communities in Canada and has worked as a primary school educator, researcher and education consultant for more than 25 years in New Zealand, Canada, Indonesia and The Bahamas. She is passionate about the inquiry approach to learning and supporting children’s creativity through the arts, science and mathematics.
Year 1-2 Classroom Teacher
Katie is passionate about whanaungatanga and is actively involved in the community and supports the students in the whole school to take action in the community. Katie began her teaching career in Auckland and moved back home to the North where she took up a teaching position in Kaikohe before joining Oromahoe School in 2017.
Year 2-3 Classroom Teacher
Born in the north and originally from Ohaeawai, Del Bailey and whanau have returned to the north after 20 years in West Auckland. Curiosity and collaboration is what drives her passion of 15 years teaching, working alongside communities, whanau, colleagues and tamariki. She is a true believer of the tamariki creating and being involved in the learning, developing their strengths and creativity to achieve success as a learner.
Year 0-1 Classroom Teacher
Michelle joined Oromahoe School in 2017. Prior to teaching at Oromahoe School Michelle worked with students with special needs in a variety of schools. She is passionate about the application of digital technology in supporting students learning. Michelle brings diverse experience to her role as a classroom teacher. She is a mother of four, and comes from a large local whanau.
Year 4-5 Classroom Teacher
Kate has been teaching at Oromahoe School for the past 3 years. She has trained in Steiner education and is passionate about the Arts, specialising in drama. Kate brings experience as a sports degree graduate and leads the school in this area.
Year 3-4 Classroom Teacher
Dani is new to Northland, moving up from Auckland earlier this year. She grew up in Hawaii and has taught as a class teacher and a science specialist teacher both in New Zealand and London. Dani is passionate about science and completed a post graduate honours degree in primary science and maths teaching through the University of Auckland last year. The inquiry approach with hands-on, student led learning is something Dani believes in strongly and she is excited to be a part of the Oromahoe whanau.
Classroom Release/ Specialist Art Teacher
Nan Parker is our visual art teacher. With over 30 years as a primary teacher and visual art specialist in New Zealand, China and Malaysia her love of art has brought her back to NZ to continue her own personal artistic practices, in painting, drawing and ceramics. Her desire to inspire others, including parents and teachers, to take up the challenge of developing their own artistic side has bought her to Oromahoe School.

Oromahoe School Board of Trustees meets the 3rd Monday of the month, 4pm in the staffroom. Meeting minutes are displayed in the school office.
